Wedding Rings - First for Sydney Harbour Bridge

Finding a unique place to swap wedding rings and join together in matrimony is increasingly difficult but, according to the report on Reuters, Scottish couple, Stephen Tierney and Clare Tullen, recently claimed a world first by exchanging vows and wedding rings some 134 metres from terra firma atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Weddings are supposed to be memorable experiences and it’s safe to say that getting married atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge will certainly be one of the more memorable ceremonies out there.

There can’t be many cases where the bride and groom’s wedding rings need to be attached to safety ropes but this was exactly the case for Stephen Tierney and Clare Tullen when they decided to tie the knot on top of Sydney Harbour Bridge. According to the report on Reuters, the Scottish newlyweds had to brave cold conditions, wind and rain during their ascent to the top of the giant structure but, fortunately, neither dropped their wedding rings during the climb. Speaking to Reuters, the bride, Clare Tullen, stated, “I always wanted somewhere unusual to get married and this was the first place, somewhere I've always wanted to visit and I thought it would be amazing to do it. I'm so excited and I don't believe I've actually done it.”
 

Wedding Rings - Wardrobe Malfunction

Whilst the ceremony was a traditional affair so far as the wedding rings were concerned, the Scottish couple had to ditch their wedding attire in favour of some considerably less fetching jumpsuits in order to make the climb to the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge. The bride was more than happy to ditch the traditional wedding gown in favour of the grey jumpsuit if it meant she could exchange wedding rings in such a unique setting and Ms Tullen states to Reuters, “I have always dreamt of having my wedding on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The views from the summit of the bridge were unforgettable. I always wanted something original for my wedding – I didn't care about the cake, the dress and the wedding. Having the moment on the bridge, more than made up for not having the dress.”
