Wedding Rings – The Running Man
Bringing the wedding rings to the ceremony is normally a job bestowed upon the best man at a wedding but according to a report in the Telegraph, one couple’s wedding was saved by a fleet footing man of the cloth when the wedding rings were nowhere to be seen with the ceremony fast approaching.
Wedding Rings – Get Me To The Church On Time
The marriage of Lucy Rid and Christopher Smith was all set for disaster when the wedding rings were AWOL and the ceremony was about to begin. A report in the Telegraph, however, finds that a marathon running vicar was there to save the day. Rev. Chris McQuillen-Wright is the spritely vicar in question who managed to cover the three quarters of a mile to the bride’s mother’s house to recover the wedding rings in little over four minutes. Speaking to the Telegraph, Rev. McQuillen-Wright stated, “The bridesmaids were chatting outside the church in the sunshine and everyone was very happy. Then the chief bridesmaid became very agitated. She realised she had left the wedding rings behind.”
Wedding Rings – Going That Extra Mile
The marathon running vicar was well received upon his return to the church with wedding rings in tow and he actually beat the bride and groom to the church. Chief bridesmaid for the ceremony, Paula Davies, explains that the moment she realised that she’d forgotten the wedding rings was ‘terrifying’ and she tells the Telegraph, “Luckily we had an athletic vicar on hand and I just about got away with it. He was back here before the wedding car.” Ironically, it was Paula’s husband, James, who was supposed to be looking after the wedding rings but she told him that he couldn’t be trusted with such a job.
