According to a report on ITV News, the recently married superstars, Jay-Z and Beyonce, caused a bit of stir recently when eagle eyed paparazzi realised a discrepancy between their wedding rings. Namely that Beyonce wore her wedding ring in public but hip-hop mogul, Jay Z’s, was no where to be seen. The reason that the wedding ring was conspicuous by its absence is one that Beyonce may not be too happy to hear.

The wedding rings mystery surrounding Jay-Z and Beyonce was soon solved when the rapper explained that he felt no need to wear his wedding ring and was more than content to show his commitment in the form of a ring tattoo on his finger instead. Wedding rings are a very personal thing generally speaking and it is clear that the world famous rapper doesn’t wish to adorn himself with any more jewellery than he has to. Speaking to Fox News, a source close to the rap star stated, “He doesn't need more bling, this is a very personal thing for him and he won't wear anything other than a tattoo in public.”

The ceremony which saw Jay-Z and Beyonce exchange their wedding rings may have been a low key affair at a New York registry office but, according to the report on ITV News, it was attended by some of the world’s most well known celebrities. Just some of the A-Listers in attendance to see the pair exchange their marriage vows and wedding rings included Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child band mates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Coldplay singer Chris Martin and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow. So, whether or not Jay-Z wears his wedding ring in public or not, the marriage is certainly sure to be one of the most high profile of 2008.
