Wedding Rings – Avoiding Disaster

As the smallest but most important objects in a wedding service, your wedding rings are the one thing you want to keep safe. Unfortunately, they are also the things you often end up entrusting to others – your best man, for example, or your bridesmaid. From that point on, you’re relying on them to keep them safe and to have them to hand when they’re needed. Here’s some simply tips on how to avoid wedding ring disaster.

Keep them in their boxes

When you buy your wedding rings, they will often come in boxes or leather pouches. It makes sense to keep them in these custom-made places because it’s more difficult to lose a larger object than a smaller one. Give the rings to your trusted person in their boxes and preferably inside another box or bag. Wouldn’t you rather that your best man had a bag under his seat in church than he took the rings out of the boxes and put them in his pocket for “safekeeping”?

Distinguish between them

If you have ordered matching wedding rings, you need to make sure you know who’s is who’s. Some brides and grooms have very different finger sizes, so it shouldn’t be difficult to distinguish between the wedding rings, but for other couples, there may only be half a size difference. It will be fine getting a larger ring onto the bride’s finger, but far more difficult getting smaller one onto the groom’s. And if it gets stuck, there’ll be trouble later. To avoid any problems, put a sticker or a label on the boxes so that you know which ring is which.

Insure your wedding rings

It might not be romantic, but insuring your wedding rings means that at least you can replace your ring if it happens to get lost. Of course, you can never replace the sentimental value your ring holds for you, but if something happens to it before the wedding ceremony, you have the option to go out and buy another one without losing financially.
